On Monday evening I came back home from my extented trip around half Germany.
Staying in Dresden was great as usual (apart from the hostel room which was located one floor above a punk music bar). Used the time for shopping and for sightseeing (never try to visit the „Gemäldegalerie“ on monday) and also for having a trip to the Bastei and to the Castle of Königsstein. Heaps of geourgeous views, so I really have to recommend doing this trip while staying in Saxon Switzerland/ Dresden. The look from the the Caste Neurathen (the money for entry is worth (1,50 EURO I think) – do not save it!) as the view from Castle Königsstein (6 EURO) at the river Elbe and The peak of Lilienstein are amazing! We did have nice weather too!

Yeah. Gotta new baby to play with (even it is supposed to be my mam´s new camera) I really enjoy taking pictures with it:
And well. I have to say: I really enjoyed my first trip on a very very very tiny plane! All the excitement of the night ahead gone when I sat inside the plane and listened to the instructions of the pilot (Thanks D! - You make me eager to fly again and again and again). It was really worth to ask one of my clients (and fellow photographer) how to do the setting: shutterspeed at 1/500 at least and ISO 160 and above seems to be a rule. I also decided to go forward with Shutterspeed priority, changed to White Balance to 5800 K to get at least rid of some of the bluish shadows. Think it came out quiet well. It´s just a little bit sad that it isn´t allowed to use the lense shade (safety reasons) and for those who wanna try: think it is recomendable to use a Skylightfilter as well.

Last week I did organized a late afternoon test shooting with one of the apprentices of the TV Station I worked for. My goal: working different angles on the male face by just using available light (I can´t always take my Big Sunbounce with me even if I would love too).
To sum up my experiences: It is not easy – at least for me – doing other than – classic frontal, side and half-face portraits, although I love the pictures I did. Pictures like seen here – miss the charachter behind the face – the story line. I will look forward to do better!!
